Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin claims Real Madrid will not make a move for Sergio Aguero this summer.
Sergio Aguero: Atletico Madrid star wants out
Aguero, 22, has scored over 100 goals for Atletico since joining from Independiente as a teenager in 2006, but revealed last week that he wanted a new challenge ''to keep growing''.
The son-in-law of Argentina legend Diego Maradona has been linked to Inter Milan, Chelsea, Man City and Real Madrid, but Gil Marin says he has spoken to Madrid president Florentino Perez and received assurances Los Blancos are not considering a hugely-controversial bid for the wantaway Argentina striker.
Gil Marin told Spanish newspaper AS: ''He (Perez) has told me he has no intention of signing Aguero and I do not doubt him. Firstly due to the good relationship we have personally and secondly due to the clubs' relationship.''
As recently as January, he signed a new contract that runs until 2014 and was also named the club's vice-captain, yet a move away from the club looks a certainty this summer.
